Developer - LONG-TERM Assignment - Chicagoland area

In the Developer role, you will provide applications assistance to business professionals using SAS statistical analysis modules. We seek 3+ years of SAS experience, including JMP, Enterprise Guide and Enterprise Miner.

The candidate must demonstrate sound analytical and diagnostic skills in gathering requirements and when dealing with issues that are not readily defined and know where to obtain information needed to make the appropriate decisions. He/She must break a problem down to manageable pieces so as to implement effective, timely solutions. The candidate must demonstrate expertise, such as, profiling data, creating predictive modules, histograms, and scatter diagrams using SAS statistical functions.

The candidate must maintain partnerships across the organization, and be able to influence senior management, peers and staff through an inclusive style and recognition of their abilities to achieve results.

This position requires the candidate to create an atmosphere where the business partner's issues are dealt with professionally, and in a timely manner. He/She must suggest solutions that make sense and utilize IT supported products. He/She must communicate openly and effectively in a manner consistent with the audience and demonstrate an adaptive style that is flexible and effective in gaining cooperation of others.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/PROJECT:
• Application development/assistance for JMP, Enterprise Guide and Enterprise Miner
• Assistance in troubleshooting SAS users with desktop, access and connectivity issues
• Troubleshoot errors and work with Middleware and Unix Engineering Teams on problem resolution and product deployments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum B.S Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other technical discipline

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
5-7 years of experience using Statistical Analysis tools primarily SAS in a distributed environment.
Good working knowledge of:
- Base SAS
- SAS Stat
- PC SAS
- Enterprise Miner
- JMP
- SAS connect for DB2 & Oracle
- Enterprise Guide

Additionally, experience in training of developers and business analysts in the use of SAS products is desirable.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and facilitation skills not only with regard to technical team communications, but also business user communications; An eagerness to learn new technology and share knowledge will distinguish the candidate.

As mentioned, this is a LONG-TERM (estimated to be 1-yr in length) contract assignment.
