We are looking for an analytical professional with advanced SAS programming skills.
As an analyst within the Medicare Payment Accuracy Solutions group, you will have a direct impact on implementing cost-effective solutions. Positions in this function research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data. The analyst is responsible for providing management with statistical findings and conclusions, identifying potential areas for medical cost improvements. The primary focus for this position will be payment accuracy, including fraud, waste, and abuse.

Responsibilities
Leverage existing and ad-hoc reporting capabilities to identify opportunities for medical expense reduction
Extract, aggregate and perform quality assurance on applicable data from multiple sources and tables for purposes of root cause analysis, affordability - initiative development, and validation and measurement of medical expense reduction programs
Perform data analytics in support of trend identification, the development of affordability initiatives and measurement of program outcomes
Use data analytics to identify and gain consensus on approaches to address medical cost trends.
Provide ongoing communication on project status, results and conclusions from analysis

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Decision & Information Science, or similar program is required, with a master's degree preferred
Advanced SAS and SQL programming skills are required with 5+ years of experience desired.
The ideal candidate should have used SAS Information Delivery Portal, SAS OLAP Cube Studio, and Enterprise Guide in SAS EBI 9.1 or 9.2 environments.
Candidate should have knowledge of ETL processes and have used DI studio for ETL processes.
Exposure to Enterprise Miner, Forecast Studio and modeling is a plus.
Healthcare industry exposure is a plus, particularly experience with Medicare programs, as is public accounting experience
MS-Excel, MS-Access, Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft Query and Unix skills are strongly desired
Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
Talent for turning ambiguous business problems into understandable, actionable analyses is a plus
Knowledge of claims level data and Medicare reimbursement policies is a plus
Ability to identify underlying causes and potential mitigation strategies for medical cost trends, based on broad knowledge of healthcare issues (e.g., benefit designs, contracting methodologies, reimbursement policies)
Creatively uses large datasets to produce high quality analytics and metrics
Performs statistical analyses to independently identify root causes of medical cost trends (unit cost issues, provider issues
