We have an opportunity for an experienced professional data analyst to manage the analysis and interpretation of health care data for Performance Measurement and Quality Improvement (PMQI). This individual will measure health care utilization and performance; measure standards of health care utilization and outcomes in DHS fee-for-service and managed care; develop and implement analyses and studies to support and inform the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and DHS managers regarding policy and program changes, major purchasing initiatives, and department research studies. Job Description:
This position uses analytic methodology including scientific theory, hypothesis testing, data collection, data manipulation, data transformation, interpretation of statistical analysis including multiple regression techniques, and other technical and methodological skills to conduct analyses related to the health status of Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) individual enrollees as well as the entire enrollee population.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in health care, health care research, research or related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with relational data base structure and the tools used to derive information from a data warehouse.
- Minimum of two years of experience with SAS programming or SAS BI tool.
- Advanced-level knowledge and experience with research methodology including scientific theory, hypothesis testing, survey research techniques, data collection, data manipulation, data transformation and interpretation, and statistical analysis including multiple regression techniques.
- High level understanding of a health care claims processing system such as Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).
- High level understanding of relational data base structures and the tools used to derive information form.
- Project management skills.
